Luca Coppini

Course Director

Luca discovered his passion for diving in 2007, and what began as a single underwater experience quickly grew into a long-term career spent diving and teaching around the world. Over the years, Luca has worked in a wide range of environments — from the vibrant reefs of the Maldives and the Red Sea to the cooler waters and historic wrecks of the Mediterranean.

After becoming a PADI Rescue Diver in 2013, Luca continued along the professional pathway and earned his PADI Instructor certification in 2015. Since then, he has accumulated more than a decade of hands-on teaching experience, working with divers at all levels and developing a strong understanding of how to train confident, capable professionals.

Luca has been an integral part of the Instructor Development Course programs at Blue Marlin Gili Trawangan, training alongside award winning Course Directors and supporting IDC candidates through every stage of their development. His teaching style is calm, adaptable, and highly personalised, with a strong focus on mentorship and real-world application rather following checklists.

As Course Director at Blue Marlin Komodo, Luca is passionate about guiding the next generation of dive instructors — helping candidates not only succeed in their Instructor Exam, but leave the IDC feeling confident, prepared, and ready to teach anywhere in the world.
